Q-BALL HOOPS PROGRAM

 

We offer Personal and Group basketball skill-fundamental instruction,
which includes:

  • SHOOTING - I believe everyone can become a good shooter with correct instruction on the fundamentals of shooting, combined with drills and practice. From beyond the 3 point arc to using both hands around the basket is part of skill set instruction.
  • FOOTWORK - Everything you do involves correct footwork, a player's effective quickness can be greatly enhanced if he/she uses proper footwork. From guard play to "in the post" footwork drills will improve your game.
  • BALL HANDLING skills, drills and teaching points used at Q-Ball Hoops School present an opportunity for any player to take their ball handling skills to the next level! Warm-up exercises include ball slaps, fingertip control, around the body, back and forth and front to back. Easy and difficult coordination drills help players push their comfort zones; two ball dribbling drills are a great way to develop coordination and improve ball handling. The game speed series of drills will help all players, regardless of skill level!
  • PASSING - You must do passing drills; all players must become good at the chest pass, bounce pass overhead pass and one hand step around. Learning to use fakes while passing opens the lanes for successful passes.
  • DEFENSE - Q-Ball Hoops School teaches the details of defensive stance. Items like foot alignment, elbow position, chest out, "step-slide" technique, head up and outside hand are all important. Other key areas covered are the "slide-run-slide," half-court slides, off ball stance, slipping screens, close out technique.
  • REBOUNDING is one of the most important aspects of winning basketball games. The first aspect of rebounding is getting inside position and "boxing out". You will practice drills designed to make you a stronger rebounder.
  • CONDITIONING, endurance, strengthening, stretching and flexibility all are important parts of playing any aerobic type sport such as basketball. When you are tired, your shots come up short, you miss your free-throws, your defense, hustle and rebounding suffer, and you must be in top physical condition to raise your game to the next level. Delaware Basketball InstructionThe Q-Ball Hoops program involves stretching exercises, strengthening exercises, running distances, sprints, jumping rope and agility ladder training (good for foot speed, coordination and endurance).
  • TEAM CONCEPTS - Being a "team player" is something that will apply throughout your life and it's essential for good team chemistry. Learn how to be a team player and how to be an asset to a sports program.

$30 hour (updated 8/30/10)
